Pyeongtaek City Signs Sister City Agreement with Wonju City

Expanding Exchanges in Semiconductor Materials, Agricultural Products, and Culture and Sports

On July 16, Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province signed a sister city agreement with Wonju City in Gangwon Province at Wonju City Hall.

The signing ceremony was attended by Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jangseon, Pyeongtaek City Council Chairman Kang Jeonggu, Wonju Mayor Won Gangsu, Wonju City Council Chairman Cho Yonggi, and delegations from both cities.

This agreement aims to establish a mutually complementary and sustainable cooperation model based on the industrial and geographical characteristics and local resources of both cities. Under the agreement, the two cities plan to promote various exchange projects, including those involving semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment companies, local agricultural and specialty products, as well as cultural and sports initiatives.

Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jangseon stated, "We will pave the way for cooperation to enhance the economy, culture, and the happiness of citizens in both cities," adding, "We will do our best to build a practical and sustainable relationship."

Wonju Mayor Won Gangsu also commented, "This sister city agreement is a win-win strategy that encompasses not only administrative cooperation but also private exchanges," and added, "We will create synergy for joint development based on the resources of both regions."

Both cities plan to use the agreement as an opportunity to introduce mutual discounts at tourist attractions and cultural facilities, aiming to provide tangible benefits that citizens can directly experience.
