This award ceremony, hosted by the Chosun Ilbo and jointly sponsored by government ministries such as the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, recognizes institutions, companies, organizations, and brands that have achieved outstanding results through bold and innovative administration and management.
During the 8th popularly elected term, Ulju County adopted the slogan 'Ulju, Happiness Permeating My Life' and implemented a variety of changes that residents could tangibly experience, earning the honor of this award.
In particular, a wide range of policies received high praise, including the Yeongnam Alps cable car development project, free vaccinations for all residents, the promotion of establishing Ulju County Hospital, the expansion of sports and health and welfare infrastructure, special guarantee and wage support for small business owners, the transition to smart agriculture, and the operation of a public delivery app.
The county also focused on balanced regional development by establishing sports centers and welfare towns in the western, southern, and central regions, respectively, expanding public Wi-Fi, introducing drone demonstration models, and promoting Ulju-style future development strategies such as smart farms and the sixth industrialization.
Governor Lee Sungol stated, "This grand prize is a valuable recognition of the achievements made together with our residents through tireless efforts," and added, "We will make Ulju the best city in Korea so that every resident can truly feel the changes."
