Korea Aerospace University announced on July 15 that it had conferred an honorary doctorate degree upon Park Jangseon, Chairman of Today Art.

Chairman Park Jangseon founded Today Art, a company specializing in printing K-pop albums and merchandise, and currently serves as Chairman of the Korea Federation of Printing Information Industry Cooperatives and as Chairman of the Cultural Content Promotion Committee at the Korea Federation of SMEs.

In September of last year, Chairman Park donated 1 billion KRW to Korea Aerospace University as a development fund. In recognition of this contribution, the university named the auditorium on the first floor of its Industry-Academia Cooperation Building "Today Art Hall" and carried out a complete renovation of the space. Today Art Hall currently hosts a permanent children's musical, "Travel with Maha - Sudo SONG World Tour," featuring the university's official character Maha, and serves as a hub for educational and cultural activities for local children and youth.

Korea Aerospace University expressed its deep gratitude for Chairman Park's dedication and contributions, highly valuing his ongoing commitment to sharing with the local community and underprivileged groups, as well as his efforts to strengthen the technological competitiveness of the domestic printing industry. As a result, the university decided to award him the honorary doctorate degree, which is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an external individual.

At the honorary doctorate conferment ceremony on July 15, Heeyoung Heo, President of Korea Aerospace University, stated, "Since its founding, Korea Aerospace University has awarded honorary doctorate degrees to twelve distinguished individuals from various fields both domestically and internationally over the past 73 years. Chairman Park Jangseon is the third Korean recipient. It is highly meaningful to confer the honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree to Chairman Park Jangseon, who has led technological innovation in the domestic printing industry and contributed to the globalization of K-pop. I sincerely hope that Today Art will continue to grow as a leading innovative company representing Korea, and eventually as a world-class global enterprise."

Honorary Professor Hong Namgi (former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance) congratulated Chairman Park in his congratulatory address, saying, "Education is a force that enlightens not only individuals but society as a whole, and donations to universities are investments in future generations. Chairman Park Jangseon's support has given students new opportunities and hope, and will serve as a vital foundation for Korea Aerospace University to become a global top-tier comprehensive aerospace university."

Kim Gilseong, Mayor of Jung-gu, Seoul, remarked, "Chairman Park Jangseon is a self-made individual who achieved success through his own efforts and has earned deep respect for his willingness to share with the local community and the underprivileged. In particular, he has shown great empathy for students who are eager to learn and has generously supported them, making today's honorary doctorate all the more meaningful."

Chairman Park Jangseon said, "My long-standing relationship with Professor Shin Dongsik of Korea Aerospace University led to my donation of the development fund, and as a result, I am able to stand here today. Now, as a member of the Korea Aerospace University alumni, I will continue to support the university and strive to be a business leader who serves as a role model for future generations."
