Comprehensive Support for SMEs and Mid-Sized Companies:
From Business Plan Development to Policy Linkage
Proactive Response for Building a Strategic Item Industrial Ecosystem
and Establishing Business Models
The Busanjin-Hae Economic Free Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Sungho) announced on the 16th that it will officially launch the "BJFEZ Strategic Items New Business Consulting Support Project" to promote industrial revitalization based on BJFEZ strategic items and to support companies entering new business sectors.
This project is a leading support initiative aimed at forming an industrial cluster and strengthening the related ecosystem, focusing on five strategic items derived last year from the Gyeongnam-Busan industrial development strategy and an analysis of cargo volume at Busan New Port. The five items are: ▲green coffee beans ▲cold chain components ▲hydrogen energy ▲ship machinery parts (including shipbuilding equipment) ▲robot components.
The consulting targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions. Its core is to provide close support throughout the entire process of business planning for companies preparing to enter new businesses or expand existing ones using BJFEZ strategic items.
The support goes beyond simple advice, covering all practical stages of business development, including: concretizing business ideas → reviewing marketability and business feasibility → establishing an execution plan → preparing investment attraction proposals. Consulting worth up to 5 million KRW per company will be provided, with up to 10 one-on-one sessions with an expert chosen directly by the company over a period of six weeks.
Even after the consulting ends, the Authority plans to link follow-up support systems, such as policy initiatives and national funding support projects, through the "Strategic Industry (by item) Innovation Alliance." This is part of a mid- to long-term strategy that goes beyond short-term consulting to help companies secure execution capabilities and attract investment.
Commissioner Park Sungho emphasized, "This consulting project is an attempt to simultaneously enhance both the planning and execution capabilities for new businesses based on strategic items," adding, "Through systematic support that also considers linkage with the alliance, it will serve as an opportunity to enhance the self-sustainability and investment appeal of companies."
