Hyundai Group Achieves 18th Place in Brand Finance Report
Samsung's Sustainability Perceptions Value (SPV) reached approximately 11 trillion won, ranking 12th among companies worldwide. This is the highest ranking among domestic companies.
According to industry sources on July 16, Brand Finance, a UK-based global brand valuation consulting firm, recently announced in its "2025 Sustainability Perceptions Index" that Samsung's SPV was valued at $7.887 billion (about 11 trillion won). This figure represents a 17.7% increase from the previous year's $6.699 billion. Samsung's ranking rose one spot from 13th last year to 12th this year.
SPV is a concept that quantifies the additional monetary value attributed to a brand when consumers perceive its sustainability positively. Brand Finance uses SPV to measure public perception and reputation of companies in the areas of Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G).
Brand Finance explained, "Samsung's leadership in the field of sustainability has attracted international attention, and this result also reflects its continued investments in environmental innovation, governance, and social responsibility initiatives."
The domestic company with the second highest SPV was Hyundai Group, with an SPV of $5.785 billion, ranking 18th globally. SK Group followed with $1.925 billion at 72nd place, and LG Group with $1.603 billion at 86th place.
In addition, Kia recorded $1.416 billion, GS Group $473 million, KB Financial Group $465 million, POSCO $400 million, Shinhan Financial Group $384 million, and Coupang $366 million. All of these companies were evaluated as part of South Korea's top 10 sustainability perception brands.
