Advisor Cho stated that he considered it meaningful that, on the occasion of the recent G7 Summit in Canada, the leaders of the two countries held their first summit and engaged in a broad exchange of views on ways to strengthen bilateral relations. He also expressed hope that, under the leadership of both leaders, the global strategic partnership between the two countries would continue to deepen and develop.

Advisor Powell expressed his agreement and stated that the United Kingdom hopes to work closely with South Korea in responding to global challenges such as supply chain crises and climate change.

Advisor Cho and Advisor Powell discussed ways to strengthen practical cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade and investment, as well as defense and defense industry collaboration. They also agreed to continue efforts to further develop bilateral relations.

In addition, both sides shared their assessments of the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula and agreed to work together with the international community to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue and establish peace on the Korean Peninsula. They also exchanged views on regional and international affairs, including the war in Ukraine, and agreed to maintain close communication going forward.
