Jongno-gu, Seoul has achieved a remarkable milestone by ranking first for seven consecutive years in the local government category of the 'Korea Service Quality Index (KS-SQI)', organized by the Korean Standards Association. This result objectively demonstrates Jongno-gu's outstanding level of service and the high satisfaction of its residents, as it reflects the quality of administrative services directly evaluated by citizens.

This year, the average administrative service score of the 25 districts of Seoul was 71.8 points, while Jongno-gu maintained its lead with 73.2 points. The district office stated that it received the highest scores in 9 out of 13 evaluation categories, including 'kindness', 'proactiveness', and 'reliability', thereby proving its differentiated administrative capabilities compared to other districts.
Jongno-gu has consistently focused on providing administrative services that prioritize the needs of residents. By installing the 'Jongno Emergency Bell' in connection with 119, it has addressed safety blind spots, and by introducing a smart artificial intelligence (AI) urban brine spraying system, it has prevented road icing during winter. In addition, the operation of the 'Mobile Resource Recycling Smart Experience Vehicle' and the implementation of the 'Location-Based Pay-As-You-Throw Bag Service' have further enhanced convenience for citizens.
The district has also strived to create a pleasant and safe living environment. Efforts include installing 30cm curb stones for pedestrian safety, introducing excavation protection plates, expanding road heating systems, and promoting the School Zone 532 project and the Smart Security Light project to enhance the safety of children and local residents.
The district has focused on expanding living infrastructure to dramatically improve residents' quality of life. To resolve the chronic parking shortage in Jongno, it newly constructed the Samcheong No.1 Public Parking Lot and promoted the New Village projects in Ogin-dong and Sinyeong-dong.
Meaningful projects to revitalize the local economy and tourism, such as the creation of the Jongno Dullegil Trail, the Hongjecheon History and Culture Space, and the third phase of the Bukaksan Cultural Tourism Trail project, have also been actively pursued.
Jung Moonheon, mayor of Jongno-gu, stated, "Ranking first for seven consecutive years is the result of continuous communication and the pursuit of demand-centered policies," adding, "We will continue to strengthen people-centered administration and make Jongno-gu a district trusted and loved by its residents."
