Controversy has arisen after Korean women verbally and physically assaulted local women at an instant photo studio in Hanoi, Vietnam.

On July 15 (local time), Vietnamese media outlet VNS reported, "Authorities in Hanoi have launched an investigation after receiving a report that a Vietnamese woman was verbally and physically assaulted by two Korean women at an instant photo studio in Nam Tu Liem District." The incident has drawn significant attention on social media in the local community. It came to light after a video clip and a detailed account, believed to be from the victim, were circulated online.

According to the post, the incident occurred in late July 11 at a photo studio in Nam Tu Liem. The Vietnamese woman and her friend had made a reservation and paid for a photo session, when two Korean women began shouting at them and urging them to leave before their allotted time was up. The post also claimed that one of the Korean women suddenly struck the victim’s friend, pulled her hair, and repeatedly punched and kicked her. The second Vietnamese woman said she was threatened with physical violence when she tried to intervene.

The victims stated that they asked the studio staff for help but were ignored. VNS reported, "Police have not yet identified the two Korean women, but are reviewing video footage and collecting witness statements," adding, "The victim’s friend is reportedly suffering from headaches, nausea, and psychological distress following the assault."
