The DIT Faculty and Staff Volunteer Group of Dong-Eui Science University (President Kim Youngdo) organized a Samgyetang sharing event for local seniors.
On July 15, Dong-Eui Science University announced that on July 14, the faculty and staff volunteer group directly participated in the "10th Busanjin-gu 10,000 Bowls of Samgyetang Sharing" event held at the Busanjin-gu Senior Welfare Center, providing a special herbal Samgyetang meal to more than 400 seniors who are vulnerable to health issues during the summer.
This event was jointly hosted by the Juneneun Sarang Welfare Foundation, the Busanjin-gu Senior Welfare Center, and the Welfare Center for the Disabled, as part of summer welfare support for low-income seniors in the local community. The DIT Faculty and Staff Volunteer Group personally served meals and engaged in conversation with the seniors, sharing warmth and kindness.
President Kim Youngdo contributed 2 million won to support this event, stating, "I hope this helps seniors recover their strength during the heat wave," and added, "Dong-Eui Science University will take the lead in practicing sharing together with the local community."
The DIT Faculty and Staff Volunteer Group, established in 2008, continues to carry out a variety of social contribution activities such as supporting meal centers and sharing kimchi and coal briquettes, through funds and donations deducted monthly from faculty and staff salaries.
