Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation (SH) announced on July 15 that it will provide "Wiguk Heonsin Youth Housing," a purchase-rental housing program for injured discharged soldiers.

On this day, SH published a notice recruiting tenants for Wiguk Heonsin Youth Housing, a purchase-rental housing program for injured discharged youth soldiers. Applications will be accepted starting August 1 through the Seoul Youth Injured Discharged Soldiers Counseling Center.

Injured discharged soldiers are those who were discharged from military service due to physical or mental disabilities sustained during their service, but are not classified as national merit recipients and therefore fall into a welfare blind spot. To support stable housing and social reintegration, SH will supply 26 newly built units near subway stations as Wiguk Heonsin Youth Housing.

Eligibility is limited to injured discharged youth soldiers who are currently residing in Seoul and do not own a home as of the announcement date. Applicants must meet the following criteria: monthly income not exceeding 100% of the average urban worker's wage, total assets not exceeding 254 million won, and vehicle ownership not exceeding 38.03 million won.

Residents can move in at a rent set at 50% of the surrounding market rate. For households receiving government assistance, single-parent families, or those in the lower-income bracket, the rent is set at 30% of the market rate. The deposit is 2 million won and the monthly rent is 530,000 won. For households receiving government assistance, the deposit is 1 million won and the monthly rent is 320,000 won.

The supplied housing is located in Cheonho-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, and was completed last year. It is a 9-minute walk from Gangdong Station on Line 5 and a 10-minute walk from Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital, offering excellent access to transportation and daily infrastructure. To provide practical convenience for young residents, major home appliances such as a refrigerator, washing machine, and air conditioner are installed as standard.

Hwang Sangha, president of SH, stated, "This is the first step in providing practical housing support for the healthy social reintegration of young people who have dedicated themselves to the nation," and added, "We will continue to develop and implement a variety of policies that support and empower lives."
