This session was conducted in partnership with Save the Children, an international relief and development NGO dedicated to realizing children's rights, under the theme "Happiness Connecting Children and Parents Through Rights."
The session emphasized that "the attitude of parents in childrearing is the starting point for guaranteeing children's rights." O Jiyeong, a child rights education instructor from Save the Children, provided an opportunity to deepen understanding of children's rights by focusing on positive communication methods with children and respect-based parenting attitudes.
Parents who attended the session said, "It was a time to once again realize how important it is to listen to our children," and added, "I want to apply the communication methods I learned today in my daily life with my child."
Kim Ikang, head of Seo-gu Office, stated, "I hope this session will serve as an opportunity for parents and children to understand and respect each other," and added, "We will continue to do our best to make Seo-gu a place where children can grow up happily."
Meanwhile, since receiving the upper-level UNICEF Child Friendly City certification in 2022, Seo-gu has been continuously promoting a culture of respect for children's rights through various programs, such as customized education and exhibitions tailored to different ages and groups.
