Chosun University Hospital announced on July 15 that it recently invited Seo Miwhwa, a proportional representative member of the Democratic Party, to hold a special lecture.
The lecture, held on the morning of July 11 at the hospital's Ha Jonghyeon Hall, was conducted under the theme "Women with Disabilities, From the Streets to the National Assembly!" and lasted about one hour. After the lecture, a 30-minute Q&A session enabled active communication with the attendees.
Representative Seo has long been active as a disability rights activist and continues to engage in various legislative activities for the socially disadvantaged, including proposing amendments to the Anti-Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities Act.
During the lecture, she shared candid stories about her life, her legislative activities to date, her work on welfare policies in the National Assembly, and her legislative direction for the promotion of disability rights.
In her lecture, Representative Seo stated, "The National Assembly is a place that changes people's lives, and it is especially a space where we must speak up for the socially disadvantaged, including people with disabilities and women." She added, "I will continue to devote greater effort to developing policies for the socially disadvantaged."
