Jeonggwan Library, which has grown into a regional knowledge and culture platform, is celebrating its 10th anniversary by hosting a vibrant festival.

Gijang County in Busan will hold a variety of cultural events and hands-on programs throughout August to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Jeonggwan Library's opening.

Jeonggwan Library, which opened on August 4, 2015, has established itself as a representative multi-cultural space in Gijang County. This year’s 10th anniversary event, under the slogan “Today, Jeonggwan Library is the Star! Celebrating 10 Years Together,” aims to create a knowledge and culture festival centered around the library.

During the event period, the library will offer a wide range of attractions and activities, including a photo zone celebrating the anniversary, an exhibition of the most borrowed books, and heartwarming documentary screenings.

In particular, on August 5, a photo booth styled after “Insaengnecut,” decorated with giant flowers, will be set up as a special experience space where residents can create lasting memories.

Other highlights include a screening of the emotional documentary “Flow,” which reflects on the meaning of reading and life, on August 23; an exhibition of the most borrowed books in each reading room, held throughout the month in the children's and general collections; and a family-participation event, “Our Family T-Shirt Making,” on August 3.

The anniversary events are open to all Jeonggwan Library users, though some programs require advance registration. Detailed schedules and registration information are available on the Jeonggwan Library website or by phone.

Gijang County Mayor Jeong Jongbok said, “This 10th anniversary event is a time to celebrate together with the local residents who have supported the library,” adding, “I hope Jeonggwan Library will continue to grow as an open space where books, people, and culture come together.”
