A heartwarming story has emerged about military players from the professional soccer K League 1 team Gimcheon Sangmu helping an elderly woman who was pulling a handcart.
According to Gimcheon Sangmu on July 14, players Ko Jaehyeon, Kim Joochan, Park Sejin, and Jeon Byeonggwan assisted the woman around 7 p.m. on June 23, after finishing a special meal event and returning to their base. The players ran over to the woman, supported her, and pulled the handcart on her behalf.

Their good deed came to light thanks to a tip from a citizen. The informant, who identified themselves as a resident of Mungyeong, posted on the homepage bulletin board of the Armed Forces Athletic Corps with the title, "I was moved by the warm hearts of Gimcheon Sangmu soccer players in front of Mojancheon today."
The informant wrote, "I saw several young men with short hair, wearing ROKA T-shirts, run over to support the elderly woman and pull her handcart. At first, I thought they were just regular soldiers, but I later found out they were Gimcheon Sangmu players." The informant added, "It was so remarkable and touching to see them helping the woman that I wanted to let the base know, so I took a photo. It's been a while since I've seen such a heartwarming scene, and it warmed my heart."
This story became more widely known after the informant, unable to upload the photo to the Armed Forces Athletic Corps bulletin board, sent it directly to the club. The club then shared the story and the photo of the moment on Instagram.
The players who performed this good deed?Ko Jaehyeon, Kim Joochan, Park Sejin, and Jeon Byeonggwan?are part of the 10th group of players assigned to the Armed Forces Athletic Corps after completing boot camp in May of this year, and they are currently playing key roles for Gimcheon Sangmu. Training instructor Euromon said, "On the way back to the base after the special meal event, we saw the elderly woman. Before I could even suggest helping her, the players ran over and assisted her. It was a small gesture, but I am proud of the players for showing such kindness."
