Gwangju Donggu District announced on July 15 that a special exhibition titled "Capturing Photos in Words! Dikasi Special Exhibition" is being held at the district’s public library, Chaekjeongwon, until July 16.
This exhibition presents Dikasi works, which combine photographs captured with a digital camera and short poems of up to five lines, offering citizens the hidden beauty and inspiration found in everyday life. The event is designed to provide citizens with warm comfort and an opportunity to awaken their artistic sensibility.
The exhibition features the participation of students from the Donggu Lifelong Learning Center’s Dikasi Photography Class. Between May and June, these students practiced writing poems inspired by books and photographs, and are now exhibiting works that express everyday photos as poetry, including "Jultakdongsi" (Lee Soonman), "Maeumchang" (Kim Soonnam), "GwanSim" (Jeon Yeonmi), and "Eom Giryeong" (Forest of Chaekjeongwon).
Im Taek, the head of Donggu District Office, stated, "I hope Chaekjeongwon will become more than just a library and serve as a venue for cultural exchange," and added, "I would also like to thank the learners from the Donggu Lifelong Learning Center who prepared this Dikasi exhibition."
