Chak! Chak! Sharing Campaign." Community Chest of Korea

On July 15, Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byungjun) announced the successful conclusion of the "2025 Hope Summer Chak! Chak! Chak! Sharing Campaign," which ran for 35 days from June 11 to July 15, with the aim of addressing welfare blind spots during the summer and responding to the climate crisis.

This campaign involved the central office of Community Chest of Korea as well as 17 regional branches across the country. By operating community-based campaigns, the organization promoted local fundraising and provided customized support items tailored to the welfare needs of each region during the extreme heat. The total amount raised during the campaign was reported to be 40 billion won.

Through this campaign, Community Chest of Korea provided a total of 5 billion won in distributed funds, supporting approximately 500,000 vulnerable individuals nationwide with summer supplies to help them cope with the heat.

Essential items such as cooling products, ready-to-eat meals, summer bedding, mosquito repellent, cooling scarves, and mini fans were customized according to the climate, living environment, and welfare needs of each region. These items were swiftly delivered to neighbors in need, taking into account their health conditions and economic circumstances. In the Gyeongbuk region, summer bedding sets were provided to more than 2,800 households affected by wildfires, supporting their disaster recovery efforts.

Participation in regular donation programs also continued actively. At Yangdong Market in Gwangju, a ceremony was held to mark the 50,000th "Good Store" joining the Community Chest of Korea program, with "1969 Yangdong Tongdak" recognized as the 50,000th store. Seventeen shops in Yangdong Market joined together, and Gwangju's first "Good Market·Good Street" was also declared.

The campaign name "Chak! Chak! Chak!" reflects the hope that support will be delivered to neighbors through Community Chest of Korea's regular donation programs: Good Home, Good Store, Good Workplace, and Good Pet. Voluntary giving from citizens also stood out. TV Chosun donated the entire 88.42 million won proceeds from the "Mr. Trot 3" finals text voting to Community Chest of Korea, supporting vulnerable groups during the extreme heat. TV Chosun's cumulative donations now total 1.48 billion won.

Additionally, "Forever Woong Study," the fan club of singer Lim Youngwoong, donated 3 million won in celebration of his birthday, becoming the first donor to join the Sharing Leaders Club in Seoul for this campaign.

Kim Byungjun, chairman of Community Chest of Korea, stated, "Community Chest of Korea is not just an organization that receives donations at the end of the year, but is expanding as a year-round sharing platform that works together to solve community issues. Based on the cooperation of donors, local governments, and distribution agencies, we will work even harder to address welfare blind spots and ensure that practical support reaches those who truly need it."

The funds collected through the campaign will be used for: ▶ responding to heat waves and climate crises such as disasters and calamities ▶ supporting the livelihoods of the new poor who are struggling due to illness or unemployment ▶ discovering welfare blind spots, such as self-reliant youth and isolated households, and establishing customized support systems for them.
