"Literature Appreciation Meeting" is a video content series that explores major literary works from multiple perspectives together with prominent contemporary Korean authors. Each month, one author and one book are selected, offering in-depth interpretations from various viewpoints. The series features Kim Joonghyuk, an author who moves freely across literature, music, and film, and Lee Jeok, one of Korea's leading singer-songwriters and lyric poets, as permanent MCs, promising a rich reading experience.

The first episode, released on Millie's Library's official YouTube channel, focused on Eun Heekyung's "The Bird's Gift." "The Bird's Gift" is a coming-of-age novel that captures the lives of family, neighbors, and various human figures through the eyes of its 12-year-old protagonist, Jinhee. The novel is praised for its delicate portrayal of life's joys and sorrows through the inner world of a young girl and its insightful reflection on contemporary society. Since its publication in 1995, the book has remained popular, reaching its 100th printing after 27 years.

In this episode, Eun Heekyung participated as a guest, sharing the background behind the title "The Bird's Gift," her creative process, and behind-the-scenes stories related to the work. The discussion also explored what the 100th printing means to Eun Heekyung, offering a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the enduring value of literature over time.

"The Bird's Gift," featured in this episode, is also available as an e-book and audiobook on the Millie's Library app. In particular, the e-book has been added to users' bookshelves over 45,000 times, demonstrating its continued popularity.

To commemorate the launch of "Literature Appreciation Meeting," Millie's Library released Eun Heekyung's new collection of linked stories, "The Name of the Rose is Rose," as both an e-book and audiobook on July 15. This work is praised for its intelligent and sophisticated prose as it explores fundamental issues surrounding human relationships through the keywords "foreigner," "traveler," and "other."

Lee Sungho, head of the Reading Party at KT Millie's Library, stated, "We planned this project to re-examine the value and appeal of Korean literature through the voices and perspectives of leading authors who have shaped the domestic literary scene, and to strengthen our connection with readers." He added, "We will continue to present a variety of projects that can help spread a culture of reading together with many authors."
