20th Anniversary Suicide Prevention Campaign "Night Walk for Life"

20th Anniversary Suicide Prevention Campaign "Night Walk for Life"

The social welfare foundation Lifeline Korea has announced that it will hold the 2025 Suicide Prevention Campaign "Night Walk for Life" (hereinafter referred to as "Night Walk") to raise awareness about the seriousness of South Korea's suicide rate and to promote a culture of respect for life.

Lifeline Korea organizes a suicide prevention campaign every year to mark World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10). Now in its 20th year, the "Night Walk" has, since 2006, brought together a cumulative total of 350,000 donors and participants walking to shine a light on life through last year.

This year's "Night Walk" is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 13, at the Culture Square in Yeouido Park. There will be two participation categories: the "Week-Long Step" 7 km course and the "365 Days for Suicide Prevention in Korea" 36.5 km course. On the day of the campaign, there will also be suicide prevention program booths and celebratory performances at the venue.

In particular, the 36.5 km course will see 365 campaigners walking together from dusk until dawn, symbolically spreading the message of the value of life. Various programs are planned for each course, reflecting the concepts of "one day," "one week," "one month," and "365 days." Applications for the campaign will be accepted from July 15 to August 31 through the official Night Walk website. All participation donations will be used for Lifeline Korea's suicide prevention projects.
