"We Will Prove the Strength of K-Legal Tech"
Roan Company announced on July 15 that it has recently successfully completed a Series C-2 round worth 50 billion KRW.
New investors participating in this round included IMM Investment, Daesung Startup Investment, Shinhan Venture Investment, and KDB Industrial Bank.Existing investors such as Smilegate Investment, Premier Partners, Coolidge Corner Investment, and JW&Partners also made follow-up investments.
A representative from IMM Investment stated, "The legal tech market is difficult to pioneer, which means that leading companies can secure a significant economic moat. Roan Company is already recognized as a leading legal tech company in Korea, and we decided to invest because we believe its competitiveness will continue based on services like Super Lawyer."
Roan Company successfully launched Korea's first legal AI service, 'Super Lawyer,' in July last year, establishing a strong presence in the market. Super Lawyer recently answered 123 questions correctly in the 14th Korean Bar Examination multiple-choice section, achieving a score equivalent to the top 5% of successful candidates and surpassing the passing threshold. The balanced growth of its operating services, such as the comprehensive legal portal 'Lawtalk' and the AI-based integrated legal information service 'Bigcase,' also contributed to attracting investment.
Roan Company aims to achieve an annual profit this year. For the first time since its founding, the company recorded a profit in the first quarter and continued to be profitable in the first half of the year.
Roan Company plans to solidify its leading position in the domestic market by building a next-generation integrated legal platform. The company will also expand investments in advancing legal AI technology and collecting overseas legal data to pioneer overseas markets, thereby launching a full-scale global expansion.
Kim Bonhwan, CEO of Roan Company, said, "As Korea's number one legal tech company, we will drive the revitalization of the domestic industry through AI-based innovation and successfully enter the global market to prove the strength of K-legal tech."
