Busan Hosts 'Occupational Safety and Health Month' Event... Awards for Industrial Accident Prevention and Seminars

The Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Director: Jung Jongdeuk) held a local event in Busan at BEXCO on July 14 to mark Occupational Safety and Health Month.

Held under the slogan "Safe Workplaces, Happiness for All," the event consisted of a morning commemorative ceremony and afternoon seminars by sector. The ceremony included awards for individuals who contributed to the prevention of industrial accidents and a performance aimed at reducing industrial accidents. In the afternoon, seminars were held with experts and industry representatives from five sectors: safety, health, construction, shipbuilding, and ports.

The agency plans to operate an industrial safety promotion booth in the underground passageway of City Hall Station on Busan Subway Line 1, in cooperation with the Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Busan Metropolitan City, from July 16 to 17. They will continue public campaigns to promote the prevention of industrial accidents to citizens.

In addition, throughout July, the agency plans to sequentially conduct safety culture campaigns targeting vulnerable groups such as shipbuilding and construction workers, as well as foreign workers.
