Nextchip Signs Next-Generation ADAS Technology Partnership with Stellantis Subsidiary

Nextchip announced on July 15 that it has signed a technology cooperation agreement with aiMotive, a wholly owned subsidiary of the global automotive group Stellantis, to jointly develop advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) solutions that integrate next-generation autonomous driving software.

aiMotive is an artificial intelligence (AI)-based autonomous driving software specialist acquired by Stellantis in 2022. The company is currently responsible for developing autonomous driving technologies within the Stellantis Group. Stellantis, formed by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Peugeot Citroen (PSA), is one of the world’s top five automakers and owns a variety of brands, including Maserati, Peugeot, Fiat, and Jeep.

Through this agreement, Nextchip has secured the right to supply ADAS solutions that combine aiMotive’s autonomous driving software with its own system-on-chip (SoC) ‘APACHE6’.

APACHE6 is a high-performance semiconductor chip that fuses and analyzes data from various sensors such as cameras and radars in real time to make autonomous driving decisions. The ADAS solution, which integrates aiMotive’s autonomous driving software, enables the implementation of next-generation autonomous driving systems with advanced driver assistance features.

Nextchip completed mass production validation in the first quarter of 2025 and plans to begin supplying its solutions to global top-tier component suppliers (Tier-1) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers. The company expects this agreement to accelerate its full-scale entry into the autonomous driving market.

A company representative stated, “This technology cooperation agreement with aiMotive demonstrates that Nextchip’s semiconductor design capabilities are recognized by global companies,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our position and technological competitiveness in the autonomous driving market by expanding cooperation with various global automotive companies in the future.”

Meanwhile, Nextchip is a specialist in next-generation vision semiconductor design. Based on its core image signal processing (ISP) technology, the company is developing the APACHE series SoCs to expand its presence in diverse fields such as automotive, robotics, and defense.
