In the women's weekly world golf rankings announced on July 14 (local time), she earned 3.03 points and soared 74 spots from last week's 99th place. She accumulated these points by claiming victory after two playoff holes against Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) at the Amundi Evian Championship, a major tournament on the LPGA Tour, which concluded the previous day in Evian-les-Bains, France. In the final round on the 18th hole (par 5), Grace Kim made an eagle to erase a two-shot deficit and force a playoff. In the first playoff hole, she made a chip-in birdie, and in the second playoff hole, she produced a dramatic comeback with another eagle.
There were no changes at the top of the rankings. Nelly Korda (United States) maintained her position at No. 1. Thitikul, who could have become No. 1 with a victory in this tournament, remained in second place. Lydia Ko (New Zealand) is third, Yin Ruoning (China) is fourth, and Lee Minjee (Australia) is fifth. Among Korean players, Yoo Hae-ran is ranked seventh, Kim Hyojoo is tenth, Ko Jin-young is thirteenth, and Choi Hyejin is twenty-second. Bang Shinsil, who won the KLPGA Tour High1 Resort Women's Open, is ranked fifty-fifth, while amateur world No. 1 Lottie Woad (England), who tied for third at the Evian Championship, climbed to sixty-fourth.
