President Lee also mentioned that he gave a special lecture to new Grade 5 civil servants at the National Human Resources Development Institute in Jincheon, North Chungcheong Province, on the same day. He said, "I briefly mentioned Bobby at the event, and many people showed interest."

During the lecture, President Lee reportedly said, "Even dogs know whether someone likes them or not," and added, "I had a disagreement with my wife this morning because of that. Bobby keeps going only to my wife, Kim Hye Kyung."

On Instagram, President Lee further explained, "I felt a bit left out because Bobby keeps going only to my wife, but when I thought about it, it made sense. She is the one who feeds him every day, takes him for walks, and plays with him." He continued, "Since I have less time to spend with him, it is natural that Bobby feels closer to my wife. Even dogs know very well who cares for and loves them."

President Lee emphasized that sincerity always reaches both animals and people. He said, "Watching Bobby stick close to my wife, I realized that if animals can feel and express emotions like this, people must be able to recognize them even more sensitively."

He also mentioned that there are now 15 million pet owners in Korea, and said, "Through Bobby, who brings simple happiness and warm comfort just by being there, I can better understand the hearts of people living with companion animals." He added, "I will continue to strive for a society full of respect and consideration for life," and "I envision a Korea that is a leading country in animal welfare, where people and animals coexist harmoniously and enrich each other's lives."

According to the presidential office, Bobby is a Maltipoo (a mix of Maltese and Poodle) that has been raised by President Lee's eldest son, Dongho, and his wife. Recently, Bobby has been living with President Lee and his wife at the official residence in Hannam-dong.
