Practicing Neighborly Love with a Gift of Samgyetang
On July 14, the Deoksan-dong Community Security Council in Jinhae-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, successfully carried out the 2025 special project, the "Sarang Dameun Package" delivery initiative, extending a warm helping hand to vulnerable groups in the community.
Through this project, the Deoksan-dong Community Security Council plans to visit 15 single-person households of elderly and middle-aged individuals every month, providing side dishes and offering emotional support services through regular check-ins.
During the event, members of the Deoksan-dong Community Security Council personally visited homes to deliver Samgyetang, a nutritious summer dish, with care, ensuring both the health and well-being of vulnerable households exhausted by the hot weather.
Chairperson Lee Junho said, "We prepared the meals with care, hoping that our neighbors living alone can stay healthy and get through the hot summer. We will continue to do our best to look after and support those in need around us."
Kim Hyejeong, head of Deoksan-dong, expressed gratitude, saying, "I am thankful to the members of the Deoksan-dong Community Security Council for taking the lead in supporting neighbors in need despite the hot weather. We will work even harder to make Deoksan-dong a place where all residents can be happy."
