Safety First in Port Construction... Busan Port Authority and KSCE Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Branch Forge Win-Win Cooperation in Safety Field

Cooperation to Strengthen On-Site Safety Management
for Sustainable Port Development

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) and the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Branch of the Korean Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE, President Kim Taehyung) have joined forces to enhance safety at construction sites.

On July 14, the two organizations announced that they had signed a business agreement aimed at improving technical capabilities to strengthen safety management at port construction sites and contribute to construction safety and welfare.

This agreement was established with the goal of achieving sustainable port development and implementing safety and welfare in construction projects. It was promoted to strengthen research collaboration, technology exchange, and human resource development in the fields of ports and safety.

BPA and KSCE plan to pursue regular information exchange and support for the realization of safety and welfare in construction projects; cooperation in technical support, consulting, joint research, and professional workforce development; and the expansion of cooperation in domestic and international academic conferences and international exchanges.

Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "BPA possesses practical experience in port operation and development, while KSCE has research capabilities in the field of construction (safety). Through this agreement, we expect to maximize synergy," adding, "We will further broaden the scope of cooperation between the two organizations in the fields of port and construction safety to develop Busan Port into a global smart port."
