President Lee to Hold Town Hall Meeting on Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Relocation in Busan on the 18th Yonhap News

On the 14th, the presidential office announced, "At this meeting, there will be in-depth discussions attended by experts on topics such as the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan and the development of the Arctic shipping route." The office also plans to recruit participants from among Busan citizens through social media (SNS).

This will be President Lee's third town hall meeting with local residents. As part of his efforts to communicate directly with the public, President Lee visited Gwangju on the 25th of last month and Daejeon on the 4th of this month to discuss local issues with residents.

Given that the topics of this Busan town hall meeting are the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries?a long-standing aspiration for Busan?and the development of the Arctic shipping route, some interpret this as an effort to gauge public sentiment in Busan and Gyeongnam (PK).
