Illegal Footage Discovered on Mobile Phone
Police Arrest University Club President in Gapyeong Pension Incident
A man in his twenties has been apprehended by police on suspicion of illegally filming fellow members of his university club at a pension in Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province.
On July 14, the Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Unit of the Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency announced that the man, identified as A, has been booked without detention on charges of illegal filming under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
A is suspected of installing a mobile phone in the bathroom of a pension in Daeseong-ri, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong County, at around 4 a.m. on July 12 and illegally filming club members.
Police were dispatched after students reported suspiciously finding a mobile phone mounted in the bathroom. Officers checked the device and apprehended A at the scene. It is reported that the footage included images of students who had come to the MT together.
A is the president of a club at a well-known university in Seoul.
The police are conducting forensic analysis on A's mobile phone and are investigating the details of the incident.
