According to the county on the 14th, this blood donation campaign was organized to support the blood supply in a situation where securing blood has become difficult due to a decrease in the population eligible to donate blood caused by low birth rates and an aging society, as well as an increase in the number of patients requiring transfusions for serious conditions. Each of these factors has contributed independently to the current challenges in blood supply.
The blood donation will be conducted jointly with the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross and will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants in the blood donation can check their personal health through blood tests for blood type, hepatitis, and liver function. They will also receive various benefits, including four hours of volunteer service credit, a blood donation certificate, and commemorative gifts.
Han Myeongran, Head of the Health Promotion Division, said, "We are holding this campaign to encourage participation in blood donation during the summer vacation season, when the number of donors decreases." She added, "We ask for your continued interest and participation in blood donation to join in sharing life."
