Aroot: NSRC Enters Semiconductor Equipment Market for Advanced Processes

NSRC, a semiconductor equipment specialist and subsidiary of Aroot, is set to diversify its product portfolio as it nears a large-scale contract for its existing equipment. On July 14, NSRC announced that it has successfully internalized technology related to high-resolution semiconductor lithography equipment for advanced processes. The company plans to use this achievement to supply a wider variety of products to global semiconductor companies and expand its order book.

NSRC has established a unique refurbishment technology by purchasing semiconductor lithography equipment and upgrading it to meet customer requirements before supplying it to global semiconductor companies. Building on this, the company has diversified its product portfolio to include not only existing i-line and KrF (krypton fluoride) lithography equipment but also new high value-added equipment.

Recently, global semiconductor manufacturers have seen a surge in demand for refurbished equipment that can be quickly deployed on production lines. While new semiconductor equipment can take an average of four months to over a year from testing to operation, refurbished equipment can be introduced much more rapidly, minimizing delays in semiconductor wafer production lines.

NSRC plans to strengthen its presence in the global semiconductor market with both new high value-added lithography equipment and existing models. To this end, the company is currently expanding its purchases of lithography equipment and, starting this year, will also secure high-resolution lithography equipment for advanced processes, according to company officials.

An NSRC representative stated, "After achieving an average annual growth rate of 47% over three years through 2023, we continued to post a profit even during last year’s global downturn, successfully expanding our product portfolio." He added, "Based on the trust we have earned through multiple supply references to global semiconductor manufacturers, we will accelerate our performance growth by increasing orders for new high value-added lithography equipment."

He continued, "Inquiries regarding the supply of refurbished equipment from global semiconductor manufacturers, including those in China, continue to increase. We will quickly complete the upgrades on recently acquired lithography equipment and focus on securing additional orders."
