Damyang County in Jeonnam announced on the 14th that it held the "2nd One Heart Sports Festival" on the 11th, with young farmers from the Northern 4-H Federation (Damyang, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang, Jangseong) participating.

The event was organized by the Damyang 4-H Federation and co-hosted by the four county federations. Over 200 people, including young farmers and local dignitaries, attended the event, which helped to broaden exchanges between regions and foster intergenerational understanding.

The event began with an opening ceremony at Damyang Resort. The ceremony was attended by key figures such as Damyang County Governor Jeong Cheolwon, Damyang County Council Chairperson Jang Myeongyeong, National Assembly member Lee Gaeho, Jeonnam Provincial Council members Park Jongwon and Lee Gyuhyeon, as well as county council members, who all encouraged the young farmers. The program continued with presentations on activities by each county federation, a screening of a 4-H activities video, and a celebratory saxophone performance by the Return-to-Farming and Rural Migration Council.

The second part of the sports festival took place in the Damyang Paradise area, featuring lively programs such as recreation, water sports, air bounce sliding performances, and foot volleyball. Going beyond simple competition, the event fostered laughter, cooperation, and friendship, allowing members to connect and share meaningful moments together.

On the following day, the 12th, participants visited "Simokwon," a farm run by an outstanding young farmer in Damyang, where they learned about developing processed products using persimmons, practicing eco-friendly agriculture, and farm management cases.

Nam Hanbyeol, president of the Damyang 4-H Federation, said, "4-H is a youth organization that leads local agriculture based on the values of friendship and service," and added, "We will continue to promote ongoing exchanges and solidarity in the future."

Damyang County Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "Rural areas are facing complex crises such as aging populations and climate change," and emphasized, "We will spare no effort in providing various policy supports to help young farmers realize their dreams in rural communities."

Meanwhile, 4-H stands for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. It is an international youth educational movement aimed at fostering the growth of young farmers and contributing to local communities.
