Yangsan City Public Health Center Wins Two Minister of Health and Welfare Excellence Awards

The 17th Local Government Health Promotion Project Performance Conference

Yangsan City Public Health Center in Gyeongnam was honored with two Minister of Health and Welfare Excellence Awards at the 17th Local Government Health Promotion Project Performance Conference in 2025.

The Health Promotion Project Performance Conference is held annually to evaluate the achievements of integrated health promotion projects by each city and province, select and reward outstanding organizations, strengthen the momentum of public health initiatives, and raise public awareness of health promotion.

The Integrated Health Promotion Project provides coordinated and linked services across a total of 12 areas: physical activity, obesity prevention and management, nutrition, alcohol moderation, smoking cessation, oral health, atopy and asthma prevention and management, women and children-focused projects, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease prevention and management, Korean medicine-based health promotion, home visit health management, and mobile healthcare. The core of the project is to deliver tailored health services to each participant.

At this conference, Yangsan City Public Health Center was selected as an excellent institution (2nd place) in the overall category among public health centers nationwide, receiving the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation and a prize of 5 million won. Additionally, it was recognized as an excellent institution in the "Integrated Health Promotion Services" category of the strategy section, earning another Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation and a 200,000 won Onnuri gift certificate, achieving two awards in total.

An official from the public health center stated, "We are delighted to have achieved such good results as a result of our efforts to provide integrated services that connect various health promotion projects for the health of Yangsan citizens," adding, "We will continue to do our best to improve the health of our citizens by providing high-quality public health and medical services."
