Volkswagen Group Korea and the Uri Foundation are continuing their social contribution initiative, "We: Share," which is designed to promote coexistence with the local community. In particular, since last year, they have participated in "Cheonggye Atti," an environmental improvement project for the Cheonggyecheon area led by the Seoul Facilities Corporation.
The large sunshades, made in the group's corporate image color of cool turquoise, have been installed over a stretch of approximately 50 meters from Mojongyo to Gwangtonggyo, which marks the starting point of Cheonggyecheon. The sunshades will be in place until September, and the fabric used for the shades will later be upcycled into products such as bags and pouches.
Till Scheer, CEO of Volkswagen Group Korea, stated, "As a neighbor living near Cheonggyecheon and as someone who passes through this area every day, I hope these sunshades offer a small respite from the heat during the summer," adding, "We will continue to engage in various activities as a corporate citizen to benefit the local community."
