Gyeongsan City announced that the exhibition "The Golden Age of Seniors Seen Through Comics," held over three days from the 11th to the 13th at the Gyeongsan Citizen Hall exhibition room, concluded successfully with enthusiastic support from citizens.
This exhibition was organized through the collaboration of Gyeongsan City, the Gyeongsan branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, and the Korea Cartoonists Cooperative. It featured over 100 works, including 60 webtoons jointly created by six local seniors and five artists, cherished items from seniors, and audio content. The event provided a platform for intergenerational empathy and communication.
The exhibition "The Golden Age of Seniors Seen Through Comics," held over three days until the 13th at Gyeongsan Citizen Hall, is bustling with visitors.
In particular, seniors who participated in the creation of the works served as docents, personally explaining the pieces to visitors and adding depth to the viewing experience.
During the talk concert with the artists and seniors, behind-the-scenes stories of the works and life experiences were shared, offering both inspiration and laughter.
Additionally, interactive experience booths such as fan, postcard, and can badge making proved highly popular not only with family visitors but also with students from Gyeongsan Dongbu Elementary School who visited as part of a field trip.
Children had the opportunity to participate in various activities and listen directly to life stories from grandmothers and grandfathers, naturally gaining a deeper understanding of the lives and culture of the senior generation.
Cho Hyunil, Mayor of Gyeongsan, stated, "Through this event, we have re-examined the lives of the senior generation as cultural content and created an opportunity to implement a participatory culture and arts model through collaboration with local artists," adding, "I hope this exhibition will continue to become a leading content that allows various generations to enjoy culture together."
The works from this exhibition will also be displayed in the main lobby of Gyeongsan City Hall from July 28 to August 14.
