Law Firm YK and Korea In-house Counsel Association to Hold Joint Seminar on "Assessing New Government Labor Policy"

This seminar is designed for corporate HR, labor, and legal professionals, and aims to share strategic response measures to the rapidly changing labor environment.

Major changes are expected across the labor sector, including the Yellow Envelope Act, criteria for determining employer status, improvements to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, and the introduction of a 4.5-day workweek. Through this seminar, YK plans to comprehensively review corporate HR, labor, and compliance management practices, and to present specific response strategies.

The seminar will consist of three sessions, with speakers who have practical experience and expertise in each field focusing on key issues faced by companies. In the first session, Park Dooyong, a professor at Hansung University and former president of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, will discuss "Corporate Challenges and Future Institutional Improvements after the Enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act," addressing the establishment and implementation of safety and health systems, as well as future directions for amendments and legislation.

The second session will be presented by Lee Jeongsik, former Minister of Employment and Labor, on "Negotiation Strategies between Labor and Management Following the Introduction of the 4.5-Day Workweek and the Passage of the Yellow Envelope Act." The third session will feature Lee Sanghee, a professor at Chung-Ang University and president of the Korean Labor Law Association, who will discuss "Criteria for Determining Principal Employer Status and Corporate Responses."

The seminar will be held for two hours at the YK main office in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and pre-registration is available on the Korea In-house Counsel Association website.

Jo Inseon, head of the Serious Accidents Center, stated, "We hope this event will help participants identify major risks in advance due to changes in the new government's labor policies and prepare practical response strategies."
