Seongdong-gu in Seoul announced on July 14 that it will provide financial support for electricity bills incurred by air conditioners installed in work and break facilities for apartment complex managers and janitors, in order to create a comfortable working environment for them. The support is available for work facilities of managers and break rooms for janitors in apartment complexes with 20 or more households, with up to 20,000 won per month per air conditioner provided for electricity costs for two months starting this month.

Applications can be submitted by the management entity through the S-apt system by July 18, or, for complexes not using the system, by visiting or mailing documents to the Housing Policy Division at Seongdong-gu Office.
Jung Wonoh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "Managers and janitors are invaluable individuals responsible for the safety and cleanliness of apartment residents." He added, "I hope that through this support for cooling costs, they can work in a healthy and comfortable environment during the hot summer. We will continue to strive to protect the rights and improve the working conditions of essential workers."
