From Infertility Information to Fertility Self-Assessment
A One-Stop Platform for Support Policies and More
On July 14, LG Chem announced the launch of the application "BLOOM," which can be used by all couples of childbearing age preparing for pregnancy and experiencing infertility, as well as by any woman who needs information on fertility preservation. The app's name was inspired by the joy of "new life" and the image of a pregnant woman's "blooming belly."
BLOOM is an app that significantly enhances the credibility of its content through consultation and verification by the Korean Society of Reproductive Medicine and the Korean Society of Assisted Reproduction. It allows users to access a vast and complex array of fertility and infertility information in one place through a one-stop platform.
For the development of the app, LG Chem conducted preliminary interviews with women of childbearing age and medical specialists, carefully selecting only the most practically useful and essential information and features to include in the menu.
The main menus include "Infertility Encyclopedia" and "Fertility Self-Assessment," which provide a wide range of information from the causes of infertility to methods of fertility preservation. At the same time, they offer personalized fertility management strategies through 10 brief questions developed based on expert consultation and domestic and international reference materials.
Additional features include "Step by Step," which guides users through the complex infertility treatment process step by step; "Checklist," which helps users prepare for hospital visits; "FAQ," which compiles expert answers to frequently asked questions in major categories such as diagnosis, testing, and embryo transfer; and "Rest Area," a space for users to share empathy and support with one another.
Furthermore, users can search for infertility centers nationwide through the "Find a Hospital" feature, and easily access information on infertility support policies and psychological counseling centers.
LG Chem plans to expand the content to cover broader aspects of women's healthcare, so that general women seeking to prevent infertility or preserve fertility, such as through egg freezing, can also access information through the app without hesitation.
Kim Sung-ho, Head of Specialty Care Business at LG Chem, stated, "As the leading company in the domestic infertility treatment market, we are introducing BLOOM to foster genuine communication with our customers," and added, "We aim to be a reliable companion for women's healthy lives and for families undergoing infertility treatment."
The BLOOM app can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store by searching for 'infertility' or 'trusted infertility information.'
