On July 14, LG Electronics announced that it will sequentially launch the LG StanbyMe 2 in global markets throughout July and August. Starting this week in Hong Kong and T?rkiye, the product will also be released in the United States, Canada, Vietnam, and Singapore within this month. In August, sales will begin in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Spain. The company plans to expand its leadership in the portable screen market across major countries in North America, Asia, and Europe.
The LG StanbyMe 2 was first released in the Korean market in February this year and has gained significant popularity. In the first live broadcast following its launch, over 1,000 units?prepared as the initial supply?were sold out in just 38 minutes. Over the five months since its release, sales of the LG StanbyMe 2 have been approximately four times higher than those of its predecessor. LG Electronics expects that the strong performance in the domestic market will continue in overseas markets with this global launch.
LG Electronics cited 'listening to customers' as the main reason behind the explosive popularity of the LG StanbyMe 2. The LG StanbyMe 2 allows users to easily detach the screen from the stand with a single button, without any complicated steps, further enhancing mobility and user convenience. The company also reflected customer requests for better picture quality and longer usage time. The product features a 27-inch ultra-high-definition (QHD, 2560x1440) high-resolution touch display and a high-capacity battery that allows up to four hours of use without being connected to a power source.
The product is also equipped with a differentiated smart TV platform (webOS). Users can enjoy online video services (OTT) and cloud gaming, and can rotate the screen vertically to watch short-form content. webOS has been recognized for its unique customer experience, winning the 'Cybersecurity Category 2025 CES Innovation Award' from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the United States and the 'Best Smart System' award from UK IT media outlet AVForums.
