Mouw, the "Octuple Bogey" Protagonist, Claims First Victory
Peterson Ties for Second, Chan Kim Shares 14th Place
This was a display of Kim Sunghyun's strong finish.
On July 13 (local time), at the ISCO Championship of the PGA Tour held at Hurstbourne Country Club (par 70, 7,056 yards) in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, Kim Sunghyun shot a 3-under-par 67 in the fourth round, tying for 28th place with a total score of 1-under-par 279. He recorded five birdies and two bogeys. He made a remarkable leap of 19 spots from a tie for 47th place the previous day.
This year, Kim Sunghyun has mainly competed on the Korn Ferry Tour, the second-tier tour of the PGA. In this season's Korn Ferry Tour, he has achieved one victory and two runner-up finishes, effectively securing promotion to the PGA regular tour for the 2026 season. Following a missed cut at the Farmers Insurance Open in January, this was his second appearance in a PGA regular tour event this season.
William Mouw of the United States, who debuted on the PGA Tour this year, surged to victory with a 9-under-par 61, finishing at 10-under-par 270 for a come-from-behind win. He claimed his first career title and received a winner's prize of $720,000 (about 1 billion won). Mouw first gained attention in January when he recorded an 'octuple bogey' by taking 13 shots to hole out from a 5.4-meter bunker on the par-5 16th hole during the second round of The American Express. Paul Peterson tied for second place at 9-under-par 271, while Chan Kim (also of the United States) finished tied for 14th at 3-under-par 277.
