Highlighting Achievements as Floor Leader
Two-Way Race with Jung Chungrae Intensifies

On Facebook that day, he wrote, "What is the mission of the party leader in the first year of the Lee Jaemyung administration? The leader must firmly support the government so that it can complete reforms decisively and swiftly, and earn public support through achievements in people’s livelihoods and the economy. That is why I, Park Chandae, am the right person." He added, "If you want a new Republic of Korea with the complete and final overcoming of rebellion and zero possibility of insurrection, please choose candidate number 2, Park Chandae."

Park highlighted his political initiative by referencing the 'Special Act on Rebellion' that he proposed. He stated, "How can we achieve the complete end of rebellion? The three special prosecutors are means to uncover the truth and hold those responsible accountable." He continued, "That is why I took the lead in proposing the 'Special Act on Rebellion,' which includes measures such as suspending state subsidies for parties that produced insurrectionists, holding the 'Yoon Sukyeol and Kim Keonhee Rebellion Hearings,' permanently banning amnesty and reinstatement for insurrectionists, socially isolating those convicted of rebellion, protecting and reducing sentences for those who confess and surrender, and commemorating citizen actions against rebellion as well as mandating democratic citizenship education."

He emphasized that the bill received signatures from 115 lawmakers in less than a day after being submitted to the National Assembly, calling this "the power of Park Chandae."

He also stated, "The end of rebellion, prosecution reform, judicial reform, and media reform cannot be achieved by assertions and slogans alone." He continued, "There must be faith in history and the people, meticulous and comprehensive planning, and the political capability to garner cooperation from lawmakers."

Referring to his tenure as floor leader, Park said, "During the impeachment and the struggle to arrest Yoon Sukyeol, I, Park Chandae, focused on making things happen rather than just making claims." He added, "Instead of putting myself forward, I took a broad view, designed strategies, and placed the right people in the right positions to achieve the final results. As a result, during my time as floor leader, I was able to lead the party to victory in the impeachment situation without a single mistake or any division within the party."

The upcoming Democratic Party leadership election will be a two-way race between Park Chandae and Jung Chungrae. On July 12, which falls on a weekend, both candidates began earnest efforts to secure regional votes, with Park focusing on Chungcheong and Jung on Honam.

The party leader is elected based on a combination of votes: delegates (15%), dues-paying party members (55%), and public opinion polls (30%). The Democratic Party plans to finalize the party leader after holding primaries in Chungcheong on July 19, Yeongnam on July 20, Honam on July 26, and Gyeonggi-Incheon on July 27, concluding with Seoul, Gangwon, and Jeju on August 2. The final result will be announced the same day at the '2nd Extraordinary National Party Members’ Convention' held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
