The People Power Party launched a strong offensive, focusing on the moral integrity of Lee Jinsook, nominee for Minister of Education, and Kang Sunwoo, nominee for Minister of Gender Equality and Family, ahead of the confirmation hearings for the first ministerial nominees of the Lee Jaemyung administration, which are set to begin on the 14th.

Choi Sujin, chief spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a commentary on the 12th, "The Democratic Party of Korea has begun stonewalling at the hearings, claiming there are no issues with the plagiarism allegations against nominee Lee Jinsook or the abuse of power allegations against nominee Kang Sunwoo," adding, "The Democratic Party is bringing disgrace upon itself by turning the entire cabinet, following the president and the prime minister, into a so-called 'criminal cabinet.'"

Chief spokesperson Choi continued, "With someone under investigation for various allegations becoming prime minister, other ministerial nominees have also become brazen about illegality," and added, "The precedent set by the prime minister's confirmation hearing?where there were no witnesses and insufficient materials?is now spreading to all ministerial confirmation hearings."

He said, "Jeong Dongyoung, nominee for Minister of Unification, reportedly did not submit a single document; Baek Kyunghoon, nominee for Minister of Science and ICT, has zero witnesses or references for his hearing; Jeon Jaesoo, nominee for Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, and Kim Younghoon, nominee for Minister of Employment and Labor, also have zero witnesses."

He further criticized, "During the prime minister's confirmation hearing, there was a promise to clarify matters during the hearing, but in reality, there were only sophistries claiming that explanations had already been given, without any supporting materials," and added, "The Democratic Party's tricks at the hearings have become the new normal."

He went on to say, "It is questionable whether a government that cannot call illegality what it is, or abuse of power what it is, truly possesses morality and expertise," and added, "Even now, the Democratic Party should restore normalcy to the confirmation hearings."

The National Assembly is scheduled to begin confirmation hearings for the ministerial nominees for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and Ministry of Unification on the 14th, continuing with hearings for other ministerial nominees of the Lee Jaemyung administration.
