Special Prosecutor on Insurrection Again Summons Yoon for Appearance at 2 p.m. on the 14th

The special prosecutor team led by Cho Eunseok, which is investigating the insurrection and treason cases related to the 12·3 Martial Law, has once again notified former President Yoon Sukyeol to appear on July 14.

On July 11, special prosecutor assistant Park Jiyoung stated during a briefing, "We have requested former President Yoon to appear at 2 p.m. on the 14th through his legal counsel."


She added, "We received a response from correctional authorities indicating that there are no health issues preventing him from attending an external investigation."


The special prosecutor team detained former President Yoon on charges including abuse of power in the early morning of the previous day and requested his appearance for questioning at 2 p.m. on the same day. However, former President Yoon did not comply, citing health reasons. In response, the special prosecutor team sent an official letter to the Seoul Detention Center, where he is being held, requesting verification of his health status.
