Incheon City and Delta Air Lines Sign MOU for Tourism and Aviation Cooperation Including Expansion of Direct Flights

On July 11, Incheon City announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Delta Air Lines in the United States for mutual cooperation, including revitalizing the tourism industry.

Under the MOU, both parties agreed to cooperate in various areas, including expanding direct flight routes between Incheon and major cities in the United States, conducting joint promotions and global marketing to attract overseas tourists, and more.

Incheon City plans to further strengthen its public-private cooperation base with global airlines and accelerate efforts to raise the global recognition of the Incheon tourism brand. By leveraging Delta Air Lines' network of major hub cities in the United States and its extensive marketing capabilities, Incheon will launch targeted campaigns to attract tourists from the Americas. The city will also work to expand actual tourism demand by developing tourism products linked to direct flight routes.

This MOU is also expected to promote foreign investment in the aviation, logistics, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) industries through strategic collaboration with the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority. The city anticipates that combining the locational competitiveness of the Incheon Free Economic Zone, which is developing around Incheon International Airport in Yeongjong International City, with Delta Air Lines' aviation expertise will create synergies across various fields.
