The Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 11th that it will operate the "Visiting Fire Safety Classroom" for 119 elementary schools until the 24th.

The "Visiting Fire Safety Classroom" is an ongoing program that visits schools to allow children to experience various disaster situations both directly and indirectly. The goal is to enhance children's disaster response capabilities and to promote a culture of safety in everyday life.

This training is tailored to the level of elementary school students and focuses on basic fire safety, including fire evacuation procedures, how to report emergencies to 119, and how to use a fire extinguisher. It also includes evacuation drills in situations involving heat and smoke.

In particular, the program utilizes a mobile safety experience vehicle equipped with various equipment and audio-visual devices to create an environment that closely resembles real-life situations. This includes operating emergency bells and alarms, as well as conducting fire evacuation drills, so that children can vividly learn practical safety behaviors. The experience-based training will be conducted until the start of summer vacation and is also scheduled to continue for elementary schools in the second semester.

Kim Byungsang, Head of Fire Prevention, stated, "We will continue to expand field-oriented safety education to help children develop safe habits and strengthen their disaster response abilities."
