This field tour was organized to inspect the theme garden and barefoot walking path and to share the city’s citizen-centered administrative achievements. Mayor Joo Kwangdeok, local provincial and city council members, city officials, and representatives of Jinjeop-eup social organizations participated, experiencing barefoot walking and engaging in on-site communication.
The 'Wangsukcheon Theme Garden' project was launched in December 2022 and was completed in June 2025.
The garden was designed as a waterfront space combining the concepts of 'Rest Zone (休se-gwon)', 'Green Zone (錄se-gwon)', and 'Water Zone (水se-gwon)'. It features a 1-kilometer themed walking trail, a 458-meter loess path, a loess experience area for barefoot walking, and LED lighting facilities, creating a healing space that anyone can comfortably enjoy.
Participants commented, "After actually experiencing barefoot walking, we are satisfied because the soft texture of the loess path provides a natural retreat where we can relieve everyday stress."
Mayor Joo Kwangdeok said, "It was a meaningful time to directly experience the site with citizens and hear their vivid feedback. Moving forward, we will continue to expand sustainable, eco-friendly spaces through citizen-satisfying and tangible administration."
Meanwhile, since 2023, the city has been promoting the 'Barefoot Walking Path Creation' project in 16 towns and districts so that citizens can enjoy barefoot walking closer to home at any time, with plans to complete the initiative by the second half of this year.
