Heojun Festival Draws 150,000 Visitors... "Expanding Scale and Enhancing Content"

To Be Held at Seoul Botanic Park in Magok This October

Gangseo District in Seoul will hold the 'Heojun Festival,' which has grown into a nationwide event, in an even more spectacular fashion this year. On July 10, the district held the '23rd Heojun Festival Promotion Committee Meeting' in the main conference room of the district office, where participants discussed a variety of content and safety measures designed to preserve the festival's identity while ensuring that all generations can enjoy the event together.

Based on Heo Jun's spirit of compassion for the people and the historical value of the Donguibogam, Gangseo District plans to develop the Heojun Festival into a unique medical and health culture festival. This year's festival is characterized by a wide range of attractions designed to encourage participation and enjoyment across all age groups.

The main programs include the Heojun Gala Parade, a unique event that incorporates K-culture elements such as Squid Game, and the Heo! Junior Contest. A video featuring Heo Jun created with artificial intelligence (AI) technology, as well as a laser show to conclude the festival, are also highly anticipated by visitors.

The scale of the festival will also be expanded compared to last year. A section of Magokjungang-ro, connecting Seoul Botanic Park and Magok Square, will be closed off to create a festival zone throughout the area. This year's festival will take place from October 18 to 19 in and around Seoul Botanic Park in Magok. Prior to the main event, an introductory festival will be held at the Heojun Museum and Heojun Neighborhood Park, and the '3rd Heojun Run,' which starts at the Botanic Park and follows the Han River, will also take place.

Jin Kyohun, Mayor of Gangseo District, stated, "We are paying close attention to every detail to ensure that all visitors to the Heojun Festival can fully enjoy the event in a safe environment," adding, "We hope you will join us for the Heojun Festival, which becomes more special with each passing year."

Meanwhile, last year's Heojun Festival was a great success, attracting a record 150,000 visitors.
