Winner earns qualification for September's Shinhan Donghae Open
Shinhan Financial Group announced on July 11 that it will hold the 2nd Shinhan Donghae Men's Amateur Golf Championship at Illite Golf & Resort in Yeongdong, Chungcheongbuk-do, for four days starting on July 15.
This tournament, hosted by Shinhan Financial Group and organized by the Korea Golf Association (KGA), will feature 112 of Korea's leading amateur golfers. Led by Kim Minsoo, the top-ranked player in the KGA rankings and sponsored by Shinhan Financial Group, the event will also see the participation of national team members and reserve players such as Choi Junhee, Lee Jaewon, Yoo Minhyeok, and Kang Seunggu.
As in the previous year, the final winner will earn a spot in the 41st Shinhan Donghae Open, which will be held at Jack Nicklaus GC in Songdo, Incheon, starting September 11. This offers an opportunity to compete against top-tier players from Asia, including those from Korea and Japan.
Jin Okdong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, stated, "I hope that this amateur tournament will help promising domestic golfers grow and advance to bigger stages," adding, "We will continue to support the development of young golf talents, carrying on the legacy of the Shinhan Donghae Open, which was established over 40 years ago to expand the base of golf in Korea and discover outstanding players."
