The company determined the disclosure indicators in accordance with the evaluation guidelines of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and included content that reflects social, environmental, and financial impacts.
Hankook Tire has also significantly strengthened its disclosures related to biodiversity, in line with global disclosure standards, including the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
In particular, the company identified eight key management issues related to climate change and resource circulation, and provided detailed explanations of their management status and future challenges. These issues include: climate change mitigation, energy efficiency management, hazardous and chemical substance management, resource circulation management, employee health and safety, respect for employee human rights, supply chain ESG risk management, and research and development as well as technological innovation. The report includes the main actions taken and achievements for each issue.
The report also provides a detailed overview of Hankook Tire's response to changes in the global ESG regulatory environment. Hankook Tire has established a company-wide committee to proactively respond to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Through this, the company has built a management system covering the entire natural rubber supply chain and established regular inspection and reporting systems to ensure effective countermeasures.
