IT security and authentication platform company RaonSecure (co-CEOs Soonhyung Lee and Jeonga Lee) announced on July 11 that it has signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Application of Post-Quantum Cryptography to Medical Healthcare Platforms" with Pi Digital Healthcare (CEO Yuseungchan), a company specializing in healthcare platforms. The signing took place at RaonSecure's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.
Pi Digital Healthcare is a digital healthcare company jointly established by Yonsei Medical Center and Kakao, developing and operating medical platforms and AI services. Through "Connect-DTx," which integrates medical institutions, patients, and digital therapeutics (DTx) companies, the company provides patients with real-time personalized prescriptions and builds a digital therapeutics infrastructure that supports smooth communication with the government and medical institutions. The platform is currently being used at major medical institutions, including Sinchon Severance Hospital, Gangnam Severance Hospital, Yongin Severance Hospital, and Seoul St. Mary's Hospital of the Catholic University of Korea.
Currently, the two companies have been selected for the Ministry of Science and ICT's "2025 Post-Quantum Cryptography Pilot Transition Support Project" as the first in the medical sector, and are jointly carrying out the "Post-Quantum Cryptography Transition Project for the Standard Medical Data Relay Platform." This agreement is a follow-up collaboration in line with the pilot project, aimed at jointly expanding the post-quantum cryptography-based medical data relay platform.
Under this agreement, RaonSecure will apply its PQC-based solutions, "Key#Biz" and "Key#Wireless," to Pi Digital Healthcare's integrated digital therapeutics platform, "Connect-DTx." Based on this, the two companies plan to gradually expand the PQC-based medical data relay platform to various medical institutions.
Last year, RaonSecure commercialized post-quantum cryptography based on the Korean post-quantum cryptography algorithm (KpqC) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, applying it to segment encryption in "Key#Biz" and "Key#Wireless." This year, the company was selected for a government pilot project with a medical data relay platform using this technology, demonstrating the potential and competitiveness of commercializing quantum security technology.
Jeonga Lee, CEO of RaonSecure, stated, "Since the medical healthcare sector concentrates sensitive personal information, building a PQC-based security infrastructure in preparation for the quantum computing era is essential. Through this collaboration, we will further enhance the level of protection for domestic medical data and lead the market by expanding PQC technology throughout the industry."
