Cargo Transshipment in Honolulu: Launch of the "Aloha Express"
Air Premia announced on the 11th that it has signed an interline (route connection) agreement with Amazon Air Cargo, the largest cargo airline in the United States, and has launched the "Aloha Express" to target the North American cargo market.
The Aloha Express, which began operations on the 9th, is a new route where Air Premia is responsible for the Incheon-Honolulu segment, while Amazon Air Cargo transports cargo from Honolulu to major cities on the U.S. mainland. Honolulu serves as an intermediate hub connecting Asia and the United States. It is a strategic base that can reduce transportation time and costs by more than 20% compared to direct routes.
Through this collaboration, utilizing Amazon Air Cargo's network, deliveries can be made to 45 cities across the United States, including Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Houston, and New York (JFK). Air Premia has thus secured multiple new hubs within the U.S., in addition to its existing bases at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), and San Francisco Airport (SFO).
Meanwhile, in April, Air Premia became the only airline, excluding the two major national carriers, to begin transporting pharmaceuticals. The company plans to strengthen its position in the high value-added and specialized cargo markets by diversifying its cargo business. An Air Premia official stated, "Based on the strengths of our North America-focused routes, we will continue to enhance our competitiveness in the global logistics market."
On the 9th, the first cargo of Air Premia's Incheon-Honolulu flight was loaded at the Incheon International Airport apron.
