Former President Yoon Seokyeol, who was detained by the special prosecutor team led by Cho Eunseok on charges of insurrection, was transferred on July 10 to a single cell of approximately 2 pyeong in the general housing unit at Seoul Detention Center. His inmate number is '3617'.

According to the legal community on July 10, former President Yoon entered the single cell in the general housing unit, measuring about 2 pyeong, after meeting with his attorney and having dinner that afternoon, followed by the admission procedures. After receiving his inmate number, he reportedly underwent a physical examination to check his height and weight, changed into a khaki-colored uniform for pretrial detainees, and had his 'mugshot' taken.
The single cell where former President Yoon is being held is even smaller than the approximately 3 pyeong cells where previous presidents were detained. This appears to be an unavoidable measure due to the serious overcrowding issue at the detention center. In the past, former President Park Geunhye stayed in a cell of about 3.04 pyeong, and former President Lee Myungbak was held in a cell of 3.95 pyeong.
The general housing unit cell where former President Yoon is being held is equipped only with a fan, with no air conditioner. For fire prevention, the fan operates for 50 minutes and then is turned off for 10 minutes. Inside the cell, there is a storage cabinet, a television, a desk that also serves as a dining table, tableware, and a toilet. The television allows viewing of recorded broadcasts and some live broadcasts at certain times from four channels: KBS1, SBS, MBC, and EBS1. There is no bed, but a blanket is provided.
